Hello there!

And Welcome to Nested and Nurtured

 

My name is Angel Bishop, and I am a Newborn Mothers Certified Postpartum Professional and cook. 

​

I work with new mamas around the Wilmington, North Carolina area, to make those early days of motherhood restful and beautiful, through holistic and traditional methods of postpartum care.

 

My offerings are centered around home visits where I prepare food for the new mother.  

​

Foods that are deeply nourishing to the postpartum body. Helping you to physically recover from the marathon of pregnancy, labor and birth. 

 

I also offer time of respecting and holding space for the big feelings that accompany this beautiful, and massive transition to new motherhood.

Some info to help you get to know me better...

​

~I am a born again, follower of Christ

~I have been married to my husband for 10 years. We have 3 little ones, and reside in rural Southeastern, NC.

~When I am not being a mother and postpartum doula, you can find me tending my chickens, gardening, archery hunting, or driving my Jeep on the sand by the ocean.

~I worked for 6 years in the food service industry. Where I fell in love with the beauty of the culinary arts.

~I worked on a local farm for two years, where I learned basic animal husbandry, and discovered the power of eating locally, and sourcing the best quality ingredients for recipes.

~I have always had an interest in all things birth. Which at one point made me want to pursue becoming a birth doula.

~Following a difficult postpartum experience after the birth of my first baby, I realized how important a good support system is those first few months. And that mothers need just as much, if not more nurturing than the baby.
